Our Peaceful Classroom Agreement

A student-created agreement for disagreement, listening, inclusion, and cooperation.

We do not have to agree about everything. We do agree to treat one another as human beings worthy of dignity and respect.

Listen to understand, not only to answer.

Disagree with ideas without attacking people.

Ask questions before making assumptions.

Make room for quieter voices.

Look for common ground without pretending differences do not exist.

Repair harm when our words or actions hurt someone.

Choose cooperation whenever cooperation can solve the problem better.
